Blackwell Semillon
Semillon is one of the founding varieties of the Barossa, consistently producing full-flavoured, textured wines that drink beautifully in their youth, but also have the ability to develop further complexity and depth of flavour with age. We have selected only the finest parcels of grapes from our Barossa growers for inclusion into the Blackwell Semillon, which is wholly barrel fermented and then aged on lees for eight months.
This wine typically displays characters of lime, lemongrass and pineapple that follow from the bouquet through to the palate. Smoke, vanilla and cashew nut is also evident from fermentation and maturation on fine-grained American oak. Excellent drinking now, the Blackwell Semillon will repay cellaring for 5-8 years from vintage.
