2012 Eden Valley Riesling
September was cool and cloudy which led to slow budburst and shoot growth, followed by dry and warm conditions in October which allowed the vines to catch up after a slow start. Overall below average crops were evident in December but this proved to be a vintage of quality over quantity. January and February continued the trend of below average temperatures, yet vintage commenced two weeks earlier than normal. The pace of the 2012 vintage was unusually calm due to the steady pace of ripening and lower tonnages.
